I was attending Los Angeles city
College when I did these two paintings.
I had a large unfurnished one bedroom
apartment. This is the view from
the kitchen window.
I could sit in the day and enjoy the
shimmering reflections of the sunlight
on the buildings in downtown L.A.; and
then at night, when I could feel the fresh
breezes coming in thru the big old wood
framed window, I'd marvel at the sparkly
lights, illuminating the night, while
inside my own candescense burning it's
artistic flame undetected, observed the
mystery and listened to the sounds; orbs
of sounds, technicolor sounds, coming...
and going.
But one sound in the night was frightening.
I couldn't imaginewhat was making that
plinking sound. Carefully I edged my way
to the kitchen, for it was coming from there.
It had to be a rat. But it was not a very
big rat. So calming down, ready and
resolved to be strong no matter what....
I turned the light on. The sound stopped,
but then there it was again. Plink...
plink...I followed the sound and
discovered the truth.
I'll tell you more on Calif p4.
