TIBETIAN BUDDHISM

Dalai Lama

                                 CHENREZIG PUJA

I gained access to this meditation when I began attending classes
on Buddhism at the Dharma Center in Paia a few years ago.

Lama Tenzin would lead us in Tibetian and we would recite in English.
His chanting filled the room and was distinct in the way his voice sounded.  The meditation goes on for six pages.

The pages continue after that with more on Tibetian Buddhism.  There's also a link at the bottom of this page, if you'd like to read
some of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama's teachings.

This book contains the recitation for the meditation of the Great Compassionate One called "For the Benefit of All Living Beings as Vast as the Skies",  Tibetian: "Dro, don, Kha, khyab, Ma"

(Begin with REFUGE.)  From this moment

until the Heart of Enlightenment is reached,

I and all sentient beings as limitless as the sky

chenrezig.3.jpg

 * go for refuge to all the glorious Holy Lamas;  we go for refuge to all the Yidams, the Dieties

gathered in the Mandalas;  we go for refuge to all the Buddhas, those that have conquered and gone beyond;

we go for refuge to all the Supreme Dharma;  we go for refuge to all the Noble Sangha;  we go for refuge to

chenrezig.4.jpg

all the Dakas, Dakinis, Protectors and Defenders of Dharma who possess the eye of  Transcending Awareness (Repeat 3 times from *).

(Finishing the Refuge, the recitation for the Chenrizig meditation follows.  First, the REFUGE and the Raising of the BODHICITTA:)

 * To the Buddhas, Dharma, and

Supreme Assembly I go for refuge until Enlightenment.  May I, through merit gained by gifts and so on,
